Da Lat is a city in Vietnam that comes under the Lam Dong Province. Located on the Langbian Plateau the city lies 4900 feet above sea level. Coming to the city after visiting other places in Vietnam was a great surprise. This is because Da Lat offers a great temperate climate as against the tropical weather experienced by other destination cities in Vietnam. After experiencing all the heat and humidity for several days, the mist-covered valleys of Da Lat were truly blissful. Described below are the most-visited places in the city:
Linh Phuoc Pagoda
Located in Trai Mat District, the Linh Phuoc Pagoda is a must-visit destination. It is the iconic tourist destination and religious center of Da Lat. Here you can see the majestic Dragon temple which is 49 meters long. There is a gigantic Dragon’s head built in here which is almost 10 feet high and serves as a stunning sight. The entire temple is ornately designed with glass and mosaic. There are lots of carvings and sculptors that can keep you engrossed for hours. Visiting the temple was an amazing experience and we spent several hours touring the hilltop premises. The only catch is the uphill climb that can be tiresome if you are not used to trekking.
Thien Vien Truc Lam
Our next destination was the Zen Buddhist temple situated on Phượng Hoàng Hill that lies along the outskirts of the town. Visiting the place was a highly serene experience. The temple is quite big and there is a beautiful garden with lots of benches to sit and enjoy the sights. We also visited the beautiful Tuyen Lam Lake which is located near the temple.
Located at the Prenn Mountain Pass, is the stunningly beautiful natural waterfall of Datanla. The trip was a unique experience that kept us engaged for an entire day. The place has cascading waterfalls that merge with the river beneath. Canyoning and boating are some of the major activities at this place. There is also a popular rollercoaster ride that can add to your excitement.
